Bagerhat Representative: Due to biodiversity conservation and breeding season, the forest department has banned travel and fishing in the Sundarbans for three consecutive months from Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Khulna Divisional Forest Conservator Mihir Kumar Do said, “Due to the breeding season, all types of entry into the Sundarbans are banned for three months as per the directives of the Cabinet Division.
“Fishing and travel will be banned from June 1 to August 31.”
The Divisional Forest Conservator further said, “The security of the Sundarbans will be strengthened for this period. All sorts of pass permits to enter the Sundarbans have been revoked to enforce the ban. ”
